Very easy to bait with once you get the timing down, and you can react-parry with them relatively consistently as well. Grass Crest Shield, Lothric Knight Shield, etc.Ĭlaws/Fist weapons, etc.: Almost instant startup for frames, decent frame count. Lothric Knight shield however is one of the best because it has high stability and full physical damage reduction when blocking, but no buff (can be infused however). Some also have some nice buffs at the expense of damage absorbtion, such as the Grass Crest Shield with Stamina regen. Much easier to parry a 3rd attack in a combo, and can sometimes parry a second attack after blocking the first making them a little easier to bait reliably. Medium (kite, generally) shields: Faster startup for frames, less frames. Small Leather Shield, Target Shield, etc. Stats for blocking vary but are generally medium to low. Slightly tough to parry a 3rd attack in a combo with it if you're against a fast weapon like an estoc, as the third hit may get you before your parry frames start and interrupt you, or net you a partial. Relatively long animation that can leave you exposed if you miss. Small shields: Slower startup for frames, but more frames when they do start.
